Does FLIP ROSE incorporate function to reduce band width?
Global matrix of FLIP ROSE is in skyline format. If the question is on the function to lower the skyline, then FLIP ROSE does not incorporate this function.
The function similar to the reduction in band width in FLIP can be that FLIP assign youngest freedom number to fluid-structure interface element (because all of these freedoms are coupled) and also assign freedom numbers close with each other for structural freedom and pore water pressure freedom in partial drainage analysis.
In FLIPGEN, node number sequence is from left to right and up to down because analysis domain of soil-structure systems is often in wider in length than height.
These numbering schemes have the effect of lowering of skyline in principle.
For a bandwidth reduction scheme, Cuthill–McKee algorithm and others are known, but above mentioned scheme applied in FLIP may be sufficient in practice.
